My fellow VGADeers, it has come to our attention that some important changes are being made to VGAD’s ancestral hunting grounds, aka CSC 3-23, aka the Arduino Lab.
The important thing everyone needs to know right off the top is that the meeting will still happen at 6:00 pm on Wednesday this week. One of two things is going to happen. Either we have one card left that can actually open the door, or we have to find somewhere else to hold the meeting on Wednesday.
We will try to have an alternate arrangement set up beforehand, so that if someone shows up a few minutes late to the meeting, we can keep everyone up to date on what’s going on. There’s still a fairly strong possibility that we can still get into the room, but if we can’t, we will do our best to find another spot.
Those of us who have had card access have probably noticed that they’ve been getting shut down one-by-one starting with my card at the end of September. The reason for this is because there is currently a general embargo on new room keys for CSC 3-23. I don’t know if I’m at liberty to say the reason for this so I won’t. Suffice to say that this has more to do with the department making decisions about the room itself than us getting explicitly shut out for leaving crumbs all over the place.
We have reached out to the Computing Science department to clarify whether or not we can continue using the room. As soon as I have new information I will let you all know. In the meantime, stay tuned to the various VGAD social pages and the Facebook group.
